Caxton and Spar donate 300 pairs of running shoes to schoolchildren

When Caxton Johannesburg North and Spar gave 300 pairs of running shoes to children in Alexandra, they gave the youngsters more than just protection for their feet while running.

Matthew Choshi, the principal of Realogile Secondary School, explained upon receiving the shoes on 29 November that many children at the school come from difficult backgrounds, and the quality shoes will give them pride and self-confidence.

“The township suffers classic new balance shoes 574 socio-economic challenges,” he said. “Some children don’t have money for nice shoes. Our sports facilities are not great but this will motivate the children to play sport, and will make them feel valued and inspired.”
The handover was the third of its kind in as many years, and forms part of the #RaceUpWithCare initiative and Drop Off a Pair and Show You Care campaign. Caxton and Spar staff facilitated the handover, along with running aces René Kalmer and Mapaseka Makhanya.

“The beauty of running is all you need is a pair of running shoes, so giving back now, we hope to see more learners at next year’s ladies race,” said Kalmer.

Makhanya said it was an honour to be part of the initiative, and if it had been around when she started running, her running ‘would have been better’.

Generous community members had donated running shoes at the two Caxton offices in Joburg North throughout the year, as well as at the Spar Women’s Race Joburg on 8 October.

“We first started the campaign because at the race in 2015 we noticed many schoolchildren run without shoes,” said Caxton Johannesburg North branch manager, Norman Dawe. “Caxton and Spar teamed up to promote running and healthy living. It has also been good to see other schools donate shoes to this initiative.”

The 8 rules men wholesale lingerie suppliers need to know before they buy LINGERIE for their lovers

For the latest research says that Christmas lingerie buying is a minefield for men – because although it is a gift women want to receive, it is also the one that most regularly disappoints.

A countrywide survey showed that the majority of women (78%) find receiving a gift of sexy lingerie from their partner “flattering” and “a compliment”.

However, that feeling swiftly changes to “embarrassment and disappointment” for one in three women (34%) when they are the recipients of underwear in the wrong size.

The survey carried out for Debenhams revealed underwear that is too small tops the table of lingerie-buying faux pas, with sets that were considered too risque, or vulgar coming a close second.

Buying underwear that is too big, the wrong colour, uncomfortable or just tasteless, were also a big let-down on Christmas day for many women.

The study prompted Aliza Reger, who runs the famous Reger brand, founded by her mother Janet, to spread a little Christmas cheer by coming to the aid of the novice knicker-buyer.

Aliza says: “Follow these rules, strike a balance between comfort and glamour and a man will be ticking all the right boxes. Get it wrong and it can be a real anticlimax.”

Size is important: You have to get to grips with your partners size before you can think about anything else. Find the size of both her bra and knickers by discreetly taking a peek in her underwear drawer and checking in the labels of sets you know she wears.

Follow these rules, strike a balance between comfort and glamour and a man will be ticking all the right boxes

Alice Cottingham from Debenhams added: “We have lost count of the number of times a man will come to the lingerie department, hold their hands in a cup shape and say, “about this size”. It happens very frequently and yet it’s so easy to find out a women’s size by looking at the bra label.”

Total recall: Think back to the lingerie she wears for special occasions, what does she wear just for you and what lingerie does she love to wear for herself? What style of knickers? What type of bra, lower cut, smooth, higher cut?

Chuck out the Chintz? What are her tastes? Does she wear bold colours, pastels, floral or modern geometric prints? Does she like sophisticated and luxury fabrics or prefer frills and pretty details?

Original Sin: Don’t try being original by purchasing something you have never seen her wear , such as fishnet lingerie, cut out underwear, a half-cup bra, see-through knickers, or a shocking pink set if she only ever wears black.

Think before you wholesale lingerie suppliers Thong: Thongs are a big turn off among many women with latest industry figures showing fewer than one in ten knicker sales are thongs. Lacy knicker can be wonderfully sexy and shows just enough cheek.

wholesale lingerie suppliers Sell More Lingerie

Curvy Brunettes wholesale lingerie suppliers Sell More Lingerie, According To Science

Attention shoppers: The results are in and it turns out that when women browse bras and underwear online, they’re more likely to buy items modeled by curvy brunettes than thinner-bodied blondes, according to data from New York-based lingerie site

The company culled this data from consumer responses to its first national TV spot earlier this year. It ran three separate spots one featuring blonde models, one featuring brunette models, and a third featuring a single plus-size brunette and then monitored traffic and sales on the site.

What they discovered is significant: Despite the fact that the commercial featuring the “real”-bodied brunette model cost a tenth of what the other ads did to produce, the 30-second spot quadrupled online sales when compared to the ads featuring blondes and not just plus size buyers.

What’s more: The ad wholesale lingerie suppliers that performed best overall featured multiple brunette models none of whom had been photoshopped. “Brunettes overall sell better than blondes,” Adore Me founder Morgan Hermand-Waiche told CNN. “Our customers and women in general prefer brunettes when it comes to purchasing lingerie. It’s what we’ve seen.”

So there you have it. When women have a choice to buy intimates modeled on bodies that look more like their own, they take it. We didn’t really need science to tell us that, but it’s always nice to have backup.
